Good hand washing is the
first line of defense against infectious disease. Everyone should
wash hands at the following time:
- After playing outdoors
- After using the toilet
or helping a child use a toilet
- After handling bodily
fluid (mucus, blood, vomit) from sneezing wiping and blowing noses,
from mouths or from sores
- After handling pets
- After playing in sandboxes
- After cleaning or handling
garbage
- Before eating or handling
food
- Before playing in water
that is used by more than one person
Help children learn the proper
way to wash their hands.
Use liquid soap and running
water.
Rub hands vigorously for at least 10 seconds.
