Why
are songs and finger plays crucial in early childhood?
1.
They provide the opportunity for all children to become involved.
2
All Children need to say words in order to acquire them, so that
they may be used later on in reading and creative writing.
3.
Children become familiar with new words in a meaningful context so
they become part of speech.
4.
Even the shy child can enter into the song or rhyme with all the
poise and security of the confident child.
5.
Songs and finger plays are conducted in a relaxed and happy
atmosphere where the learning is in the doing not the end result.
6.
They provide emotional releases and contribute to the general
social and emotional stability of children.
7.
Songs and finger plays create a happy bond with other children as
well as their teacher.
