We will be going outdoors to play whenever weather permits. Children should be prepared with clothes appropriate for weather conditions.

The primary goals of the playgroup are for children to develop a special awareness of other children and to introduce the child to a classroom experience and setting. Emphasis is placed on:
- Stimulating awareness of surroundings
- Developing self-control and the ability to share
- Strengthening fine and gross motor skills and eye-hand coordination
- To begin to follow directions
- To begin to develop listening skills
- To enrich and improve language skills
- Develop cognitive skills
Separation from parents is difficult for young children, especially those under three. Parents can help by staying at school as long as necessary until the child feels comfortable and safe with the teachers.

Children should bring a change of clothes which will remain in school including an extra shirt, pants, underwear and socks.
