Assisted by Stacy Young
Meets
Tuesday & Thursday 12:30 – 2:30 P.M.
The primary goals of the playgroup are for children to develop a special awareness of other children and to introduce the child to a classroom experience and setting. Emphasis is placed on:
Stimulating awareness of surroundings
Developing self-control and the ability to share.
Strengthening fine and gross motor skills and eye-hand coordination
To begin to follow directions
To begin to develop listening skills
To enrich and improve language skills
Develop cognitive skills.
Separation from parents is difficult for young children, especially those under three. Parents can help by staying at school as long as necessary until the child feels comfortable and safe with the teachers.
Children should
bring a change of clothes which will remain in school including
an extra shirt, pants, underwear and socks.
